Our new engineering building is nearing completion and today the first of our CNC lathes, machining centres and mills has been lifted into place.
Read Industrial’s new engineering building nearing completion and today we lifted the first of our CNC machines into place with the help of a specialist moving company. Our new building which sits at the back of our site in Rangiora will become the main engineering department over the next few months as we move most of the equipment from the original machine shop into their new positions. These images show our first machine to be set in place is our new Okuma U3000-1500 2SW programmed with Missler TopSolid and simulated with CGTech Vericut. This machine will add to our already impressive range of lathes and mills and help us to increase our capacity and capability.
The original machine shop which was the first building on this site dates back to 1968 and will eventually be altered internally as we expand other areas of our business into this extra space. Our vacuum pump and plate cooler manufacturing and assembly areas are just two processes that will benefit from the extra space being made available.
